It is only natural that a terribly worn carpet cannot simply be restored to its previous condition only by cleaning them. In most cases, it would be better to buy a new carpet and replace the old one altogether instead of cleaning them. Cleaning might probably produce a mediocre result, improving the look of your old carpet by a little bit, but it will never be as good as new.
I told the guy that I want to hire him specifically for the project anyway. Although he resisted at first, saying that he was afraid to disappoint me with his results, he took the job and I was so happy about it. Yes, the carpet is still far from being “as good as new”, but it has a lot of meaning for me and it is now looking a lot better than before.
